A Personal Invitation From Jason Horejs, Owner of Xanadu Gallery
I have been in the art business my entire life. I grew up watching my father, painter John Horejs, build a successful art career. I’ve been in the gallery business since 1992, and I founded Xanadu Gallery in 2001. I have owned and run the gallery with my wife, Carrie, ever since.
During the years I’ve been in the art business, I’ve been fortunate to work with hundreds of artists, and have interacted with thousands more. As I built relationships with artists, I came to realize that many of them hungered to better understand the business side of art. Even though many had spent years perfecting their skill and craft, the art education system is woefully inadequate at teaching the business of art.
Over the years I have received frequent requests from artists for personal career consultations and deeper guidance. Many artists have expressed a desire to get feedback on their work and direction in the process of preparing marketing materials and approaching galleries. Unfortunately, because of my busy schedule, I’ve only been able to personally work with a very limited number of artists directly.
That is why I’m excited to invite you to join Xanadu Gallery’s Art Business Academy. The Academy gives me a framework that will allow me to share insights into the art business and give you personal feedback about your art.
In the Art Business Academy, we’ve created a multimedia learning environment where you can learn at your own pace and get answers to all the questions you have about the art business. Each lesson will enhance your understanding and knowledge and provide you the skills you need to reach your goals. The practical assignments I’ve created with each lesson will allow me to give you feedback about your art and business, and will help you create the materials you need to market your work.
I invite you to join me as we work together to build your successful business. Register for the Art Business Academy today.

HOW ART BUSINESS ACADEMY WORKS
After registering, you will immediately receive access to your first lesson and assignment. Each lesson includes a 20-40 minute video presentation, supplemental presentations, and answers to the most common questions about the topic.
After each lesson, you will receive a practical assignment based on the material in the presentation. Assignments are not tests or quizzes in the traditional sense, but rather are practical projects designed to help you put into practice what you have learned. Assignments will include everything from career assessment, to artwork consistency reviews, to portfolio building and more. I will review and evaluate each assignment and work with you to make sure you have completed each step to be able to present yourself as a professional artist to buyers and galleries.
At the end of the course, you will have everything in place to move forward with your business.
Instant Access members will receive access to all of the lessons upon registration and can complete lessons as quickly as desired. Monthly members will receive access to a new lesson and assignment every two weeks. You will also receive free access to Q&A sessions and bonus material. You can complete the lessons at whatever pace works for you, and you will have access to the lessons as long as you are a member.

As one current member said:
“Even though I have a BFA in painting and have been in several galleries over the years, there has not been one lesson where I did not learn something new. It has pushed me to answer questions about my art, and to formulate answers that have made me a better artist at telling my story and at marketing.” — Cathy Carey
What if my schedule is complicated, and there are times when I can’t complete a lesson in two weeks?
Again, I designed Art Business Academy with artists in mind. I understand that your schedule is busy and unpredictable. Lesson presentations are pre-recorded and can be watched whenever convenient. Assignments can be completed at a pace that works with your schedule. If you need to pause your lessons, you can pick up right where you left off when you are ready.
What are the lessons like?
Each lesson consists of a 20-40 minute video presentation and includes additional resource material and an assignment. Assignments aren’t busywork or quizzes. Instead, you will work on practical projects to advance your art career goals. So, for example, in one assignment, you will submit 10 samples of your most recent work for me to review and give you feedback. In another, you and I will work together to craft and update your portfolio. Every lesson will give you insight, and every assignment will help you put that insight into practice.
