Have you ever wondered if selling your art through social media is possible? Over the years, we’ve pursued social media advertising to generate art sales at Xanadu Gallery. Like many artists, our results have been intriguing but inconsistent. We’ve sold artwork ranging from a few hundred dollars to over $5,000 through social media ads, but the results have always been unpredictable, and our spending on the ads has been erratic.
In the summer of 2022, I decided to settle the question of the effectiveness of social media advertising for myself. I took a deep dive into the ins and outs of social media marketing, studying guides provided by Facebook, following social media marketing gurus, and taking in-depth courses. I committed to developing a comprehensive social media marketing strategy and investing significantly in running social ads. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was determined to learn all I could from the experience.
The results have been . . . amazing.
From September 15th, 2022, to May 5, 2023, we invested $38,564 in Facebook and Instagram ads and experienced $128,580 in sales! However, even more exciting than those numbers is that we began generating sales with a very small budget ($80!) and quickly saw success.
We will expand our reach and investment in the coming months, deploying what we’ve learned to increase sales.
